Ranking among only nine bands in Rock N’ Roll music history, including The Beatles, with more Billboard Hot 100 hits…we’re talking about The Grass Roots. Get ready for a fun day with the best in entertainment and delicious food. Our comfortable North Star motor coach will depart Little Falls on Thursday, March 12th from the northeast Wal-Mart parking lot at 10:10 a.m. We’ll also pick up in Royalton, Rice and Waite Park. We’ll start with a delicious buffet lunch at Coyote Moon. As always, our luncheon buffet will be featuring three hot entrees, potato, vegetable, popovers, homemade soup, tossed Caesar salad, dessert and beverage station. Lunch at Coyote Moon is special in a relaxed atmosphere and a crackling fire in the fireplace. After lunch, we head to the Paramount Center for the Arts in downtown St. Cloud. We have reserved seats waiting for us on the main floor for The Grass Roots. In 1965, Rob Grill and three others teamed up with hit producer Steve Barri (The Mamas & Papas, Tommy Roe, Four Tops, Dusty Springfield) to form The Grassroots, who went on to chart 29 singles – 13 Gold – along with two Gold albums and one Platinum album. The Grass Roots have remained a staple on Classic Rock radio for nearly 50 years. Top 40 hits include “Let’s Live for Today”, “Midnight Confessions”, “Sooner or Later” and “Temptation Eyes”. These long-time group members have appeared on over 50 national TV shows, including “The Tonight Show”, “The Today Show”, “Ed Sullivan Show”, “Andy Williams”, “Sonny & Cher”, “Good Morning America” and a record 16 times on “Dick Clark’s American Bandstand” and have sold over 20 million records world-wide. The Grass Roots the record for a one-act U.S. concert by performing for 600,000 on July 4, 1982 in Washington, DC. They also set a record between 1967-1972 by being on the Billboard charts for an unbelievable 307 straight weeks. This show will bring back many musical memories! We will be returning to Little Falls around 4:30.
