A Celebration of 50 Years at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis

The Guthrie Theater’s longstanding tradition of “A Christmas Carol” celebrates its 50^th year this season. The current adaptation stays faithful to the Charles Dickens novella by framing the classic tale as a ghost story. Our comfortable North Star motor coach will depart Little Falls on Sunday, November 17th from the northeast Wal-Mart parking lot at 8:45 a.m. We’ll also pick up in Royalton, Rice, Waite Park or any place else along our route. Lunch is on our own today at Culvers in Maple Grove. Following lunch, it’s on to the Guthrie Theater in downtown Minneapolis for “A Christmas Carol”.

You know how the story goes, a miserly and miserable man, Ebenezer Scrooge greets each Christmas with “Bah Humbug!” until he is visited one Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. In Charles Dickens’ beloved classic, the three spirits show Scrooge happy memories from his past, difficult realities from the present and a grim future should he continue his closed-hearted ways. Throughout his journey, Scrooge is forced to reckon with the man he has become and contemplate the man he could be – but only if his restless night leads to a change of heart by morning. The Guthrie’s cherished tradition celebrates its 50^th year and continues to delight audiences of all ages this holiday season. The production will take place on the Wurtele Thrust Stage, which is the main stage. We have great seats on the main floor, Aisle 2, beginning in the second row through the eighth row. We’ll be returning to Little Falls around 6:00 p.m. Deadline to sign up is September 17^th!!
