New Musical Comedy & lunch at Cracker Barrel

The Church Basement Ladies are back in a new musical, new comedy and new location in “You Smell Barn” at the Black Box Theater located at the Ames Center in Burnsville. Join Laura and Gary Block on Tuesday September 25th for a delicious lunch at Cracker Barrel in Lakeville and the Church Basement Ladies in the afternoon. We leave Little Falls at 8:00 a.m. from the northeast corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot. Our comfortable Andy’s Charter Service motor coach will also pick up in Royalton, Rice, St. Cloud or anywhere else on our route.  Lunch is in Lakeville at the only Cracker Barrel in Minnesota.  Enjoy a home-away-from-home in the restaurant and the old country store.  This is real home-style food and shopping that’s reminiscent of America’s country heritage.  Each person will receive a $15 gift card so you can order what you desire from the menu and if there’s any dollars remaining on your card after lunch, use it in the store following your meal.  It’s a short drive to the Ames Center in Burnsville for the Church Basement Ladies in “You Smell Barn” at the intimate Black Box Theater.  The new show answers the burning question, what do the Church Basement Ladies do when they’re not in the basement?  Now’s the time to find out as your beloved Church Basement Ladies are back and getting busy with life outside the kitchen.  After the last hot dish is served, the coffee pot is drained, and the Jello molds are put away, these steadfast ladies head to their homesteads, peel of their good girdles, and get on with their daily chores as they go from the basement to the barn.  In between picking eggs and dusting knickknacks, the Ladies congregate with some of the other characters who inhabit their community.  You meet Earl, who delivers the mail up and down Rural Route One; Fergus, the hired man and Tillie, who chronicles the action for the Fish County Weekly.  “You Smell Barn” celebrates rural life in the 1950’s with plenty of crazy antics, loads of fresh laughs, and spanking new original songs.  And at the center of it all, are your favorite Church Basement Ladies.  Whether you’ve seen several versions or are new to the world of the basement, the 7th in the Church Basement Ladies series is a musical treat for all.   Inspired by the best-seller “Growing Up Lutheran” and “Growing Up Rural”, this new musical comedy is written by Greta Grosch with music by Dennis Curley. We are expecting a huge response, so sign up today. Combine a fabulous lunch at Cracker Barrel, a charming comedy “You Smell Barn” and you have the perfect day!  We will be returning to Little Falls around 6:00 p.m.
