Coming to Chanhassen Dinner Theatre’s Main Stage is an electrifying tale of endless fun and new hit Broadway musical Xanadu. Join Laura and Gary Block on Saturday, August 18 for lunch and show at the Chanhassen. Our comfortable Andy’s Charter tour coach will depart Little Falls at 9:00 from the northeast corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot. We’ll also pick up in Royalton, Rice, St. Cloud or anywhere else on our route. A tuxedoed greeter will meet us when we arrive at the theatre. Our reserved tables are in rows two and four in the center section. Lunch at the Chanhassen means friendly tableside service and a wide choice of entrees such as Chicken Chanhassen, BLT chicken wrap, garden cheese burger, catch of the day, meatloaf, blackened salmon salad or chicken tenders, served with freshly baked rolls and beverage. (Entree items are subject to change…and normally do!) Following our delicious lunch there’s time to take a break, visit the gift shop or explore the theater. Then sit back in some of the best seats in the theatre and get ready for Xanadu. Kira, a beautiful, magical Greek muse, is sent on a quest to Earth from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California to inspire a young artist to achieve his greatest dream – to build the first roller disco! (Hey, it’s 1980!) But when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds. A musical spoof of the 80’s cult classic Olivia Newton-John film, this hilarious adventure weaves an electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches. Featuring popular 80’s songs like “Magic”, “All Over The World”, “Suddenly”, “Have You Never Been Mellow” and “Xanadu”. It’s hilarity on wheels for adults, children and anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired. You’ll want to keep the music in your head and Xanadu in your heart forever!
