We’re up front where you’ll be seated in the theaters and which hotels you’ll be staying at. Not all tour companies do that, but we do!!
Day One - Monday
Our Andy’s Charter Service motor coach departs from Little Falls early in the morning. We’ll pick up in Royalton, Rice, St. Cloud, the Twin Cities or any other location on our route. Our destination is the newly remodeled Drury Inn, Overland Park, Kansas for our overnight stay. The 5:30 Kickback with a rotating menu of hot food and cold beverages will be waiting for us when we arrive. Plus, there’s free evening sodas and popcorn in the lobby.
Day Two - Tuesday
The day begins with a hot breakfast buffet. “Hot” means sausage and eggs, not bread and a toaster! Choose from scrambled eggs, sausage, Belgian waffles, biscuits, gravy and more. This morning we travel to Branson, Missouri. Lunch is on our own today, before we arrive in Branson and the Welk Resort for the Daniel O’Donnell Show. Daniel brings his smash hits to Branson in 2020 for a very limited engagement. This afternoon extravaganza is a must-see performance that features Daniel’s iconic blend of country and Irish Folk music. We ordered our tickets almost a year and a half ago and the demand has been huge since his shows are limited to only a few afternoon shows. We feel lucky to even obtain seats for this show and our seating assignments are made 60 days before the show. We typically move forward as other groups release their seats. We’ll check into Branson’s Best for the next three evenings We have stayed at this property last year and we
were impressed overall, especially with the service. Branson’s Best is centrally located, locally owned with exterior corridors and known for its friendliness and cleanliness. It is rated #6 of 133 hotels in Branson by TripAdvisor. There’s more fun, entertainment and shopping at our next stop which is at the Branson Craft Mall and Pickin’ Porch Grill. This is the craft mall that has it all! Thousands of handmade items, the work of creative and imaginative artisans is on display. These artists hail from all over America, but you’ll also see many items that are staples of the Ozark Mountain region in this 16,000 square foot facility. Also at the same location is the Hillbilly Nut & Fruit Company, offering a large variety of fruits and nuts as well as jams, jellies, salsas, soup mixes and local honey. Don’t forget to visit the Branson Coffee Company and the Branson Fudge Company where they have free samples of the candy. Dinner tonight is in the same building, The Pickin’ Porch Grill, where’s there is live music. Enjoy one of the entrees, including pulled pork, catfish, chicken tenders, grilled chicken, crispy or grilled chicken salad. We’ll close off our evening with Branson’s new tradition, “Let There Be Lights”, a two-mile LED Christmas light drive-thru display at the Promised Land Zoo. To top off our evening, there are nightly desserts of hot cobbler, ice cream and fresh-baked cookies served in the dining area of Branson’s Best for us to enjoy. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, so an evening of relaxation will be appreciated.
Day Three - Wednesday
We’ll start off the day with the hot breakfast that includes eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereals and more. What a day of entertainment this is going to be. We begin in the morning with Down Home Country at Grand Country Music Hall. The Down Home Country Show is the best show in Branson to hear traditional country music. With an incredible cast of singers and pickers, you literally step back in time to the classics, bringing to life the country music you will never forget. You’ll love the variety of dynamic singing, side-splitting comedy, powerful gospel, barn-burning bluegrass and down home fun. This show alone will make sure that your trip to the Ozark Mountains is a memorable one. Our seats begin in the 5th row, center section. Following the show, it’s an included lunch at the Grand Country Buffet where we’ll enjoy an experience reminiscent of a meal at Grandma’s house. Our afternoon show will be the Haygoods Christmas Show. All brothers and one sister, the Haygoods bring the house down show after show with incredibly tight harmonies, innovative, energetic choreography, incredible special effects and amazing performances on over 20 different instruments. With 85 sold out shows last year, this is the Haygoods 28th season with over 6.5 million tickets sold! Our seats are in the center section. Tonight it’s Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction. During the holidays, the Stampede arena is magically transformed into a true fantasy land complete with twinkling lights, evergreens, poinsettias, old-fashioned holiday costumes and familiar holiday music. But no show is complete without fun and games! The holiday festivities get playful as Elves from the North Pole and the South Pole compete in a friendly rivalry while serving up a four-course holiday feast. Remember the excitement begins before you even step in the door. There’s lively holiday entertainment in the Carriage Room featuring holiday music and comedy. Get ready to celebrate the joy of the season at Branson’s #1 choice for the holidays. Everyone loves this heart-warming Christmas show. We have reserved tables in Sections E4 and E5. This will be a day exceeding your entertainment expectations.
Day Four - Thursday
We’ll start our final full day in Branson with the breakfast at Branson’s Best. What a day of entertainment this is going to be. We begin in the morning with Clay Cooper’s Ozark Mountain Country Christmas, a show that has become a “must-see” in Branson. The first half features highlights from the regular season show and the second half is all Christmas. This is one show you don’t want to miss. Our seats begin in the 13th row center section. Following the show, it’s an included lunch at McFarlain’s Family Restaurant, inside the IMAX complex, where Branson’s largest indoor special effects Christmas tree soars 20 feet into the air. You’ll have a choice of three entrees served with pie and beverage. McFarlains has recipes as legendary as the Ozarks with a full service menu (no buffets) – plus some of Branson’s best hospitality. There’ll be time after to do some shopping in the complex if you so desire. This afternoon it’s “SIX”, an amazing show that features the six Knudsen brothers using their own vocal talents to perform classic songs of all decades, including the Christmas season. You’ll swear there’s a guitar or drums set somewhere on stage, but there’s no instruments, tracks or lip-syncing. Dubbed “an orchestra of human voices”, these brothers do not use traditional instruments, providing their own instrumentation and sound effects with the use of their terrific vocal abilities making it a perfect mixture of powerhouse vocals and family-themed humor. Our reserved seats have not yet been assigned at the American Bandstand Theatre. Dinner this evening is the buffet at the world’s largest Cici’s Pizza, featuring 11 styles of pizza, plus the salad, soup and pasta bar that is always simply amazing. Our final show is Presley’s Christmas Jubilee. There’s always a fun pre-show upstairs at the Presley Theater that you’re welcome to visit before the main show begins. The Presleys are a tight-knit group of family and friends who will thrill you with spectacular country and gospel music and clever comedy antics. This is what Presley’s Christmas Jubilee is all about. This is the standard by which other shows in Branson are judged. Magical music and comedy mayhem, dosed with a heapin’ helpin’ of Ozark hospitality. Our reserved seats are in the center section beginning in Row H. It’s been a busy day and a relaxing night at Branson’s Best is something we’ll look forward to.
Day Five – Friday
Breakfast is at the hotel this morning and then it is back on the road as we head north through Missouri and into Iowa. We’ll stop for lunch on our own, sample cheeses at the Osceola Cheese House, visit the Amish Country Store-Southern Iowa Welcome Center and have some fun on the coach. Our home tonight is the Hilton Garden Inn in Urbandale, Iowa. This is our first time using this hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening with lots of choices. Texas Roadhouse is next door, 1908 Sports Bar & Restaurant, Pancheros and a Chinese restaurant are just across the street. Inside the hotel is the full-service Garden Grille and the Pavilion Lounge. After a day of traveling, this Hilton Garden Inn will provide a comfortable place to relax and unwind.
Day Six - Saturday
Our final day together begins with a delicious breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn as we prepare for our last day together. Choose where you’d like to have lunch on your own today, Cabelas or Famous Daves BBQ in Owatonna. Before we leave town, we’ll stop at the Russell Stover Candies store featuring a full selection of boxed candies and chocolates. This is an outstanding Ozark Mountain Christmas trip.
