Ozark Mountain Christmas
Experience the magic of an Ozark Mountain Christmas with Laura and Gary Block November 13-18, 2017. All of Branson sparkles for the holidays, from fabulous Christmas shows and dazzling lights, to spectacular and breathtaking scenic beauty. Branson can be a special gift to you or to someone else at this festive time of year. Six days, five nights and seven shows in Branson. This year we’ve included more meals than ever with two lunches, five dinners, five breakfasts and more surprises that help make up an unbelievable week of fun and entertainment. In fact, all of the meals in Branson are included this year. Compare our trip with other companies and you’ll find we offer more…more days, more shows and more meals…and a more reasonable price. We’re up front where you’ll be seated in the theaters and which hotels you’ll be staying at. Not all tour companies do that, but we do!!
Day One - Monday
Our Andy’s Charter Service motor coach departs from Little Falls early in the morning. We’ll pick up in Royalton, Rice, St. Cloud, the Twin Cities or any other location on our route. Our destination is Drury Inn Kansas City Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri for our overnight stay next to Kauffman and Arrowhead Stadiums. The 5:30 Kickback with a rotating menu of hot food and cold beverages will be waiting for us when we arrive. Long distance calls are also free tonight, so phone a friend or loved one and say “hello” at no cost! Plus there’s free sodas and popcorn in the lobby.
Day Two - Tuesday
The day begins with a hot breakfast buffet. “Hot” means sausage and eggs, not bread and a toaster! Choose from scrambled eggs, sausage, Belgian waffles, biscuits, gravy and more. This morning we travel to Branson. Lunch will be on our own at Lampert’s Café in Ozark, MO, the home of throwed rolls. The motto at Lampert’s is “we hope you come hungry, leave full and hopefully have a laugh or two”. The Travel Channel called Lampert’s the “world’s best places to pig out!” At Lampert’s Café you’ll experience delicious, humongous meals for a bargain and a fun, inviting atmosphere. Our first show will be at one of the largest theaters in Branson, the Welk Resort Theatre where Daniel O’Donnell is performing. One of the most popular entertainers, Daniel’s show includes a rich blend of Irish ballads, American country music and standards, gospel songs, easy listening favorites, Christmas music and Ireland’s top female singer, Mary Duff. We ordered our tickets almost a year and a half ago and the demand has been huge since his shows are limited to only a few weeks. We feel lucky to even obtain seats for this show and the seats are located in the center section beginning in row CC.
We’re hoping to move forward as other groups release their seats. We’ll check into our hotel for the next three evenings, the Yellow Rose Inn & Suites. We stayed at this award winning property located on scenic and quiet Falls Parkway the past few of years and loved everything about this place. This is a 100% non-smoking inn with clean, quiet, comfortable rooms with a refrigerator, microwave and 40 inch HDTV in each room. Dinner tonight is included at Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House. Dinner choices include catfish, house sirloin steak, St. Louis style pork ribs or country fried steak. All entrees include potato, vegetable, salad, dessert and beverage.. Then it’s back to the hotel to rest up after a busy first day.
Day Three - Wednesday
We’ll start off the day with the hot breakfast buffet at the Bon Appetit Bistro breakfast room at the hotel that includes scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh cooked waffles, fruit salad, cereals, yogurt, donuts, bagels, muffins, juice, milk, coffee and more. Our second day in Branson begins with a stop at Grand Country Music Hall for “Down Home Country”. The “Down Home Country” show is the best show in Branson to hear traditional country music and bringing to life the music you will never forget. Enjoy all the songs that made you fall in love with country music and some great comedy also. Our reserved seats begin in the 5th row center section. Lunch is included today at Branson’s best buffet, the Grand Country Buffet. A brief visit to the Grand Village Shops will also be made. We’ll head down the road to the newest theater in Branson, Sight & Sound Theatre for “Miracle of Christmas”, the touching story of kings, angels and a simple, faithful couple used by God. Follow the journey of Mary and Joseph and witness the miraculous birth of the Savior. This original musical production features over 45 actors, numerous live animals and elaborate sets and costumes. Angels fly over the audience from a 45-foot high grid above the stage. This holiday season, Sight & Sound is extending the Christmas experience into their lobby with a live, high-energy and heartwarming performance that sparkles with all your favorite Christmas carols, lavish Victorian costumes and a 100% chance of snow. Our main floor seats have not yet been assigned. Dinner this evening is included at the world’s largest Cici’s Pizza, featuring 11 styles of pizza, plus the salad, soup and pasta bar that is always simply amazing.. Tonight we’ll be visiting the Jim Stafford Theater where we have reserved seats in the center section beginning in row three. Jim Stafford delivers two hours of uncontrollable laughter combined with masterful music performances. The Jim Stafford Show is a wild ride of fun and laughter powered by clever cogs and witty wheels spinning in Jim’s innovative mind. Jim creates hilarious antics from everyday life while pickin’ a mean guitar. Trust us, what happens at the Jim Stafford Show will make you smile forever. This will be a day exceeding your entertainment expectations.
Day Four - Thursday
We’ll start our final full day in Branson with the breakfast buffet at the Yellow Rose Inn. What a day of entertainment this is going to be. We begin in the morning at the Hughes Brothers Theater that eight years in a row has been awarded ”the best Christmas show in Branson”. Our reserved seats begin in Row 6, center section. USA Today says, “The Hughes Brothers Show owns the title of World’s Largest Performing Family!”. Step back in time as the Hughes Brothers and their families create a Christmas wonderland filled with the season’s best vocal harmonies, exciting dances, inspiring instrumentals, and of course, the charm that everyone loves about these five multi-talented brothers. The show is filled with festive surprises, extraordinary performances, and treasured family traditions. It’s a triumph of everything you want to feel at Christmas time! A lunch is included at the Hughes Brothers Theater following the show. This afternoon we have reserved seats beginning in row 7 in the center section for “Raiding the Country Vault”, the newest production in Branson that has tapped top country music talent to take audiences on a journey through the greatest hits of country music. The show features a set list of country music’s most renowned favorites by celebrated artiest such as: Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, George Strait and many more. Dinner this evening is included at one of Branson’s newest restaurants, Pasghetti’s. Walk through the world’s largest fork and meatball into this “days gone by” restaurant and enjoy a choice of four entrees: Italian lasagna, chicken Alfredo, spaghetti and meatball or grilled chicken breast served with salad, dessert and beverage.. Tonight it’s one of Branson’s oldest and most favorite shows, Presley’s Country Christmas, a combination of Presley’s original show performed all year long during the first half and Christmas music during the second half. Come celebrate Christmas with The Presleys and enjoy classic country, hilarious comedy and southern gospel in center and right section reserved seats beginning in row N. It’s been a busy day and a relaxing night at the Yellow Rose Inn is something we’ll look forward to.
Day Five – Friday
Breakfast is at the hotel this morning and then it is back on the road as we head north through Missouri and into Iowa. We’ll stop for lunch on our own and have some fun on the coach. Our home tonight is the Drury Inn in West Des Moines. Take a break with the 5:30 Kickback of food & beverages, plus free long distance calls once again. After a day of traveling, this unique Drury Inn will provide a comfortable place to relax and unwind. This is one of our favorite hotels to relax at and tonight we’ll get the group together for a fun evening.
Day Six - Saturday
The hot breakfast buffet at the Drury Inn is ours to enjoy again as we prepare for our last day together. Choose where you’d like to have lunch on your own today, Cabelas or Famous Daves BBQ in Owatonna.
