The Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping!
October 10, 2013
The award winning musical comes to Minnesota!
Plus lunch at Fabulous Ferns in St. Paul
Gary Block Tours invites you to this Barrymore Award-winning musical at the History Theatre in St. Paul that follows the sensationalized searches, investigations, and accusations which led up to the “trial of the century”. Join us on Thursday October 10th as we leave Little Falls at 7:15 a.m. from the northeast corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot. Our comfortable Andy’s Charter coach will also pick up in Royalton, Rice, St. Cloud or anywhere else on our route. In 1932, 20-month-old Charles was taken from the crib in his second story bedroom. His devastated parents, Col. Charles and Anne Lindbergh, were suddenly at the center of a media frenzy the like of which the country has never seen. Bruno Richard Hauptman, a German immigrant, was charged with the crime, but many questions remain unanswered. The infamous story includes Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne, Norman Schwarzkof, Sr., Walter Winchell, Violet Sharpe, J. Edgar Hoover, Herbert Hoover, Dr. John “Jafsie” Condon, Will Rogers, William Randolph Hearst, Ginger Rogers and more. Following the show, we travel to the heart of the historic Cathedral Hill neighborhood for lunch at Fabulous Ferns, described by the St. Paul CVB as “simply the finest neighborhood restaurant in St. Paul”. Enjoy the large half sandwich with turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on 7-grain bread with a bowl of homemade cream of tomato basil soup, non-alcoholic beverage and a lemon bar or brownie for dessert. After our delicious lunch, we’ll head back home and expecting to return to Little Falls around 4:00 pm. Signing up for this trip will also benefit the “Friends of the Lindbergh Heritage”. Gary Block Tours will donate $10 to the “Friends of Lindbergh” for every person who joins us October 10th. The “Friends of Lindbergh Heritage” is a non-profit community organization devoted to preserving and enhancing Charles A. Lindbergh State Park, the Lindbergh State Historic Site and the Little Elk Heritage Preserve. The “Friends” goal is to sustain the natural beauty and ecology of these public places, support their interpretive, environmental and recreational programs and enhance their operational capabilities. Don’t miss this chance to see this historic musical, lunch at Fabulous Ferns and help out a great organization.
